DAY 1 – Arrive in Varadero and transfer to a 4* all inclusive beach hotel.  You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel and once you check in you are free to use all facilities at the property.   (we will have a happy hour this day at 6 pm to get to know each other)

DAY 2 – This day will be free to enjoy the beach, pool and relax.  All meals and beverages are included.

DAY 3 –  Transfer to Havana with our Cuban guide and driver whom we will have throughout the tour.  Accommodation will be at the Occidental Miramar hotel or similar which is located on 5th Ave in the upscale neighbourhood of Playa/Miramar.  We will have dinner at the hotel.

DAY 4 – Breakfast at the hotel and a tour of the city by bus and walking in the Historic Old part of the city which has been declared a heritage site by UNESCO.  Lunch is not included this day, but suggestions will be made for lunch by the guide.  Your afternoon is free to remain in the old part of the city or to return to the hotel.  Dinner will be at the hotel.

DAY 5 – Breakfast and transfer to the small town of Vinales in the province of Pinar del Rio, Cuba’s rich tobacco growing area.  This valley is magnificent and unique and you will tour different attractions and spend the night at one of the two main hotels.  Lunch will be at a local restaurant and dinner at either the hotel or a private house.

DAY 6 – Breakfast and transfer back to Havana with accommodation at the same hotel.  The afternoon will be free, offering time to spend in Old Havana or relaxing at the hotel.  Dinner tonight will be at a restaurant outside the hotel.

Day 7- Breakfast and transfer to the city of Cienfuegos, the pearl of the Caribbean.  En route you will be given a running commentary about the countryside, the history and cultural aspects about the area.  You will have a chance to ask questions to our Cuban guide and learn more about how Cuba operates.  We will have lunch at Palacio del Valle, former private mansion and casino and then check into our hotel.  The afternoon will be optional to relax or to take in a city tour.  Dinner will be at the hotel.  (We will be at either hotel Union or hotel Jagua…both 4* properties)

DAY 8 – Breakfast and transfer to the mountainous region of El Nicho .  The ride up through the mountains offers spectacular views and we pass through small villages and typical countryside houses.  El Nicho is a spectacular area with a small river cascading down the hill side creating waterfalls and swimming pools.  We will have a Cuban style lunch here and return to the hotel in the afternoon.  Dinner will be at the hotel.

DAY 9 – Breakfast and transfer to the Heritage city of Trinidad de Cuba, but before we leave Cienfuegos we will visit a famous Botanical Garden on the outskirts  which had the involvement of Harvard University some years ago.  We will be staying at one of the all inclusive beach resorts and this is where we will have lunch and dinner with the afternoon free to enjoy the beach or relax around the pool.

DAY 10 – Breakfast and transfer a short distance to the city for a tour of the historical centre.  This is an amazing town with narrow cobble stone streets and lots of traditional handcrafted items for sale.  You will have time to wander on your own and then we will return to the resort for lunch and a free afternoon.

DAY 11 – Today is a free day.  Each evening there will be live entertainment at the hotel or you have the option of going in to the city to experience the night life.

DAY 12 – Breakfast and transfer to Topes de Collantes in the Escambray mountains.  Once we arrive here we will climb onto an old Russian truck converted to take tourists out to a former coffee plantation in Codina valley.  You can go on an optional, short hike to learn about some of the local plants and flowers, possibly see the national bird, the Tocororo.  We will have a traditional Cuban meal (pork, rice and beans, etc.) at the small farm house.  After lunch we continue down from the mountains through beautiful countryside to the city of Santa Clara where the remains of Ernesto Che Guevara rest in a mausoleum below a fantastic monument dedicated to him.  We will visit the monument and spend the night here with dinner at our hotel.

DAYS 13  - Breakfast and transfer to Varadero, Cuba’s largest tourist destination on a 22 (+ or -) km beach.  We will stay at a 4* all inclusive resort on the beach and it will offer different types of entertainment to occupy your time here.

Day 14- Free day

DAY 15 – Transfer to the Varadero airport for your departure back to Canada.
