CENTRAL/WEST CYCLE TOUR –
OCTOBER 30 – NOVEMBER 10, 2024
This is a 12-day program that will have you cycling some of the most beautiful areas in Cuba and giving you a bit of beach time and time to discover a portion of some historic cities. You will fly into Varadero and transfer to the city of Santa Clara to begin the cycle tour. The tour will have you cycling on quiet roads and visiting a number of small towns and cities. The tour will take you to Havana for a two night stay. You will have a guided tour of the city to experience this magnificent colonial, world heritage city. The final two days are at an all inclusive beach resort between Havana and Varadero…a free day to swim, snorkel or explore the area by bike. Tour ends with the transfer to the airport in Varadero for your return flight to Canada on day 14.
All cycle distances are determined by the individual. The average should be around 40 – 60 kms. As the bus and trailer will accompany the entire tour, you have the opportunity to take a break when you want. The bus will be at pre determined distances throughout the tour.

DAY 1 – Arrive Varadero and transfer to the city of Santa Clara. Accommodation and dinner at Hotel La Granjita.
DAY 2– Breakfast, assemble bikes, and take a ride to a small town, Encrucijada. Return to the hotel for lunch…NOT included and after lunch a visit to the Che Guevara monument and other points of interest. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 3 –Breakfast and cycle to the quaint town of Remedios. We will stop for a Box lunch en route. Accommodation and dinner at Hotel Barcelona or similar in Remedios.
DAY 4 – Breakfast and cycle along rolling roads to the historic city of Sancti Spiritus. Box lunch. Accommodation and dinner at a hotel in the central part of the city.
DAY 5 – Breakfast and cycle to the Heritage City of Trinidad. Box lunch. Tour of Trinidad. Accommodation and dinner at Hotel Yaguanabo, outside Trinidad.
DAY 6 – Breakfast and cycle along the Caribbean to the city of Cienfuegos…” Pearl of the South.” Box Lunch. Accommodation and dinner at a central hotel.
DAY 7 – Breakfast and cycle to Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs). Box lunch en route. We will spend the night at an all-inclusive resort close to a small museum that features exhibits from the Bay of Pigs invasion.
DAY 8 – Breakfast and cycle to Australia, the former headquarters of the Cuban military during the Bay of Pigs invasion. After lunch (Not included,) we will load our bikes on the trailer and head to Havana. Accommodation and dinner at Hotel Memories Miramar or similar.
DAY 9 – Breakfast at the hotel and a panoramic tour of the city by bus to visit all the important parts of the city. You will take a break for lunch… not included. After lunch, you will walk to all the major squares in Old Havana to experience the history and amazing architecture. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 10 – Breakfast and transfer outside the city to begin cycling to an all-inclusive beach resort, Memories Jibacoa. Good snorkeling and swimming. Relax and enjoy your final two nights.
DAY 11 – Free day to enjoy the resort or head out for a cycle around the area…great place to explore and experience Cuba.
DAY 12 – Transfer to Varadero Airport for your flight home.

- Deposit: A $500 CAD deposit is required at time of booking and unless the tour is cancelled, it is NON- refundable, but can be held by Square1travel and put towards a future tour within 1 year.
- Full payment due sixty (60) days prior to date of the tour.
- Once final payment is made it is 100% non refundable unless the tour is cancelled by the operator in which case it is then 100% refundable.
- Money for all Cuba tours is transferred to Cuba and their policy is “non refundable”.
- No travel documents are issued by Cuban tour operators prior to arrival in Cuba.
- All vouchers are presented direct to the hotels and other services by the Cuban tour guide.
- When payments are sent to Square1travel, you will be informed by the office when they arrive.
