This twelve-day Central/West Discover Cuba tour will cover some of the most popular but unique areas of this part of Cuba. I have made some changes to allow for a more leisurely and pleasant tour without compromising the quality and will still include the personal contact and excursions that are so special to all my programs. Since this tour will appeal to people who have traveled to Cuba with me previously, you can go on the excursions or stay and enjoy the comfort of the hotels you will be staying at. El Nicho Park, Cuba

A minimum of 8 people is required to confirm the tour, and early booking by deposit is required. Once the tour is confirmed, you will receive a list of all hotels and resorts.
DAY 1 – Arrive in Varadero at Juan Gualberto Gomez airport. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel and once you check in you are free to use all facilities at the property. (we will have a happy hour, at a designated location and time to get to know each other)
DAY 2 – Breakfast and lunch at the resort and then transfer along the north east corridor to the city of Sagua la Grande, once an important sugar mill centre. Our accommodation and dinner will be at a refurbished classy hotel called hotel Sagua E.
DAY 3 – Breakfast and transfer to the city of Santa Clara where the final battle took place against the Batista regime in 1959. We will visit the Che Guevara (hero of the revolution) monument before travelling south towards the Escambray mountain range. Once we arrive at lake Hanabanilla we will transfer to a boat and cruise the lake to a remote restaurant facility, Rio Negro, for lunch. After lunch continue the cruise to a different location for pick up by our driver. From here, we continue over the mountains and down to the heritage city of Trinidad. Accommodation and dinner will be at a local hotel.
DAY 4 – After Breakfast we will do a city tour before driving along the Caribbean coast to the charming city of Cienfuegos know as ‘The Pearl of the South’. Lunch is NOT included this day, but we will try to find an interesting location. Before checking in to our hotel you will have time to walk the main areas of downtown Cienfuegos with our guide and visit the main square. Accommodation and dinner will be at a central hotel.
DAY 5 – Breakfast and transfer to the mountainous region to El Nicho park. The ride up through the mountains offers spectacular views and we pass through small villages and typical countryside houses. El Nicho is a gorgeous area with a small river cascading down the hill side creating waterfalls and swimming pools. You will have a Cuban style lunch here and return to the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner NOT included, but we will arrange it at a private restaurant, close to the hotel.
DAY 6 – Breakfast and transfer to Havana, the capital of Cuba and the largest city. The drive is approximately three hours and we will stop en route for lunch…NOT included. Accommodation and dinner at our hotel.
DAY 7 – Breakfast at the hotel and a panoramic tour of the city by bus to visit all the important parts of the city. You will take a break for lunch… NOT included. After lunch you will walk to all the major squares in Old Havana to experience the history and amazing architecture. Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 8 – Breakfast and transfer to the magnificent Vinales Valley with its unique hill formations. A rich agricultural area where some of the best tobacco in the world is grown. We will stay at one of the hotels overlooking the valley and have dinner at the hotel. Lunch NOT included.
DAY 9 – Breakfast and a scenic drive out to the north coast to a white sand beach…Cayo Jutia. Take time to walk the beach, swim and relax in the turquoise waters and have lunch. Return to Vinales and check out the small village. Dinner is NOT included, but we will arrange to eat at one of the unique village restaurants.
DAY 10 – Breakfast and transfer to our final destination…Memories Jibacoa…an all inclusive beach resort between Havana and Varadero. Time to relax for the final two days with swimming, hiking or just taking it easy.
DAY 11 – Free day in all inclusive
DAY 12 – Transfer to the Varadero airport for your return home

- Trip insurance (cancellation and medical if required).

Deposit: A $500 deposit is required at time of booking and can be done by cheque made out to Square1travel and mailed to the office (attention SUE). If you are using credit cards for payment of Cuba portion there will be a 2% service charge added or you can arrange an e transfer by calling Sue at Square1travel. When making your deposit, by cheque, credit card or e transfer (best option), please state the tour name and date as well as your name and email address in order to have a receipt sent to you. - -A $500 CAD deposit is required at time of booking and unless the tour is cancelled, it is NON- refundable, but can be -held by Square1travel and put towards a future tour within 1 year.
- -Full payment due sixty (60) days prior to date of the tour. Once final payment is made it is 100% non refundable unless the tour is cancelled by the operator in which case it is then 100% refundable.
- -Money for all Cuba tours is transferred to Cuba and their policy is “non refundable”.
- -No travel documents are issued by Cuban tour operators prior to arrival in Cuba.
- -All vouchers are presented direct to the hotels and other services by the Cuban tour guide
